ROWLES PHOTOGRAPHic Studio COLLECTION

documenting the city of Hudson and the people who called it home

Over 300 glass plate negatives from this local studio are in our archive; originally located at 441 Warren Street, the studio was active in the late 19th and early 20th Centuries.

Featuring street scapes, portraits, everyday life, and news-worthy events such as fires, the beautiful black and white images offer a unique view of the past. The selection presented below is only a small sample of the entire collection. We are in the process of digitizing all the images and will be producing an online finding aid.
